Whether its chocolates, praline, French pastry, wedding cakes or ice cream, there’s a revolutionary new pastry academy opening in Malaysia.

Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia will be offering a host of Continuing Education short courses (2-5 days) certifications as well as diploma and certificate courses (3-9 months) conducted by the best pastry chefs around the region.

Located in the bustling vicinity of Petaling Jaya, Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia is located within Wisma Thrifty, opposite The Hilton, Petaling Jaya. An impressive 8,000 square feet have been set aside for the chocolate room, bakery, sugar room, pastry Kkitchen, classrooms and chefs’ lounge.

“Anyone can come to learn from us. Whether you are a housewife, a working professional seeking to learn more about pastry art as a hobby, or you are thinking of a switch in career, our short courses are an ideal fit,” says Guillaume Lejeune, Director, of Pastry Studies.

Students and participants will be personally trained and coached by pastry and bakery champions, ensuring that you will be finely honed through hands on teaching, practice and repeated exposure to the best pastry techniques, pastry tools and ingredients.

“As for those serious about pursuing full time studies, you can be assured that we will be committed to groom and to prepare “ready to perform” professionals within hotel and pastry related industries,” added Guillaume.

An impressive line-up of experienced pastry chefs and baking champions will be conducting courses at the academy. They include notable names such as:

  • Pastry Chef Matthias Schuebel: Pastry Olympic Gold Medalist chef, Masters Degree in Pastry & Confectionery
  • Chef Keith Hurdman: Winner of Double Gold Medalist World Chocolate Award, London (2007)
  • Chef Michel Willaume:Pastry World Champion, 2001 which he won representing Team USA in Coupe du Monde de la Patisserie in Lyon, France.
  • Jean Marie Auboine: Best Chef of the Year from Mexico’s Valet Club in 2007  and Best Pastry Chef of the Year from France's respected Champerard Guide in 2003

Courses range from 2-5 days short-term hands-on classes, for example in wedding cake artistry, to the full time 3 months and 9 months programme in pastry and baking program. You can choose what fits you best, as below:

  • Diploma in Pastry & Bakery Arts - A full-time 9 month pastry and baking program
  • Certificate in Pastry & Bakery Arts  - A full-time 3 month pastry and baking program
  • Certificate in Bakery Arts - A full-time 3 month bakery program
