Leonardo’s is drenched in all things Renaissance – originality, innovativeness and ambition. It’s not just another Italian food and beverage outlet but the rediscovery of new flavours and ideas.
Everything about Leonardo’s, from its founding concept to its physical design, is integrated towards the purpose of learning new things. For instance, the walls have been stripped bare of any covering to reveal the bricks underneath – some charred a dark, sooty colour while others display marks left by pipes that once rested on them. A modest collection of books are placed in the corner of the Wine Loft for patrons to peruse at their leisure. At night, the light from the candles on the tables lend a romantic ambience to the dining room. For those organising a gathering of friends or family, the Wine Loft upstairs is more homely and cosy.
The food is simple modern Italian cuisine made using the finest fresh ingredients available. Leonardo’s aims to promote a culture of thought and intellectual curiosity by drawing inspiration from the cafes and salons of Paris during the Age of Enlightenment.
