THE NAME “MOXIE” is as American as it gets. It is actually one of the first carbonated soft drinks to be mass produced in the United States. It was created in 1876 by Dr Augustin Thompson from Union, Maine and is now the official state beverage. “Moxie” is also slang for ‘verve’ and ‘spunk’.The Moxie drink was also Calvin Coolidge’s (30th US President) favourite beverage.
The cuisine of the United States is nothing if not diverse. Moxie’s menu on the other hand comprises a delectable fusion of oldschool and modern American cuisine with a touch of French and Italian. According to Param, the operations manager, they originally wanted it to be an all-steak and grill restaurant.
The interior of Moxie is painted white and red with vintage American posters decorating the walls. The black table cloths on the candle lit tables other a contemporary chic diner setting. There is even a private room upstairs and a bar/lounge area with plush red velvet sofas – these are the perfect setting for a nightcap after a scrumptious meal.
